photographer's statement

Producing commercial and editorial imagery of highest quality and standard in a forward thinking and creative environment is my aim and main focus in photography.

I find a special challenge in approaching projects in an innovative and creative way to showcase my motives to their best advantage.

One of my great passions in life is photographing the world surrounding me and discovering the many layers of experiences and stories that lay hidden within it. I believe that everyday situations can be a fruitful source for imagery. I like to portray my objects in a colorful and lively way that brings out their true spirit and lets the viewer look beyond the actual image and see the story that stands behind it.

about the photographer

Since being given a Pentax SLR at the age of 12, the beauty of Photography has fascinated Paris. Through this passion he has developed the intuition and control necessary to identify the qualities essential to a situation, and deliver it through his work. He is intrigued by the way the play of time and composition on one frame can express the truth of a moment and subject.

Paris studied a 4-year Diploma in Graphic Arts, majoring in Photography, at the Sydney Institute of Technology. During this period he also worked as a photographers assistant with various freelance photographers, and in a commercial advertising studio in Surry Hills (Fitzroy Place Studios). He also gained rounded experience working as a technical assistant in the Photography, Film and Television Department at KVB College, in Sydney (Australia).

In 1998 Paris moved to London and Europe working as an assistant, but also was busy documenting his observations and building up his stock library. He was part of an artist group that exhibited in London and Amsterdam.

In 2000 he returned to Sydney and worked as a freelance photographer shooting, fashion, portraits, products, interiors and architecture.

He returned to Munich Germany in 2004 where he worked as the Personal Assistant to Jimmy Powell (Film Documentary and Photography). He created images for Burda Publishing and Startshot Publishing.

In 2006 Paris returnedto Sydney and started commissioned work for publishing houses, media agencies and the corporate world. This involved editorial Ad-vertorial and advertising photography, from people to product. He also went back to University and in 2007 to completed a Postgraduate degree in Arts Management. He is also a member of ACMP, Viscopy and the Copyright Council.
